Survey for NY'ers...
Current mood: amused

1) Where were you during the blackout of 2003???
I was at work in an elevator on the 8th floor. The elevator stopped at my destination, but the doors opened about 4 inches. Two co-workers and myself opened the doors into a dark "back room" only for employees. It wasn't until we walked into the selling floor that we realized the safety lights were on and nothing else. I helped some elderly people and children down the dark escalators. At first we thought it was an isolated incident within the block. Unfortunately I had to stay at work until 6 pm before they let us out. Even then I couldn't get home. I spent the night at a co-workers home in Manhattan.

2) Did you have to drive during the blackout? Anything happen?
I rarely drive so that's a definate no. However, I watched the chaos on Lexington Ave. from the 3rd floor. Traveling on the bus was more maddening then anything else. I ended up walking 30 blocks with my co-worker. Surprisingly people were giving away flip-flops to women with heels.

3) Were you ever on top of the WTC?
Never had the pleasure of doing so.

4) What do you think should be built there now?
Bring back the buildings as they once stood. Strong and proud like a true New Yorker. In fact, make them higher just to show our fearlessness

5) Mets or Yankees?
Mets.

6) Why did you choose that team?
Born a Met. Raised a Met. Through thick and thin I am a fan.
However, I respect the house that Babe built... I just hate their capitalism, and shallow minded fans.

7) Have you ever been to the OTHER NY teams stadium that you are not a fan of?
Yes, I have watched a few games at Yankee Stadium. One specifically at my request to watch the Texas Rangers, and Ivan Rodriguez.

Unlike many, I prefer to watch Brooklyn Cyclone games at Keyspan Park. <3

8) Favorite NY Beach?
None. I have a pool. Never cared for the beach, especially in NY. Nice to watch though.

9) Favorite Pizzeria?
Pizzeria Unos' at South Street Seaport, sitting outside on a summer night.

10) Jets or Giants?
J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!
JETS!

11) Rangers or Islanders?
Hmm... Toughie. I love hockey to death. I like the Ranger/Isles about the same. I've been to a lot of Isles games througho ut my life so I would say the Isles.
However, my final answer is the NJ Devils all the way.

12) Knicks or Nets?
Nets, Jets, Mets.. It only makes sense for them to rhyme.
Honestly though, I hate basketball so don't listen to me.

13) Are you a fan of the stadium being built in Brooklyn on Flatbush Avenue for the Nets?
I'm not from Brooklyn, and I don't care for basketball. Because of that it's easy for me to say "Who cares." The location to me makes no difference. I just don't understand why it's necessary to move from NJ to NY. The idea of basketball moving to Brooklyn is too stereotypical and "ghetto."

14) Were you oppossed to the West Side Stadium?
Yes and No. It would have created alot of new jobs and the opportunity to expand the 7 line to 12th ave. Both a plus. However, traffic and parking would have been a nightmare.

15) First price you can ever remember paying for the Verrazano Bridge when you started driving?
I been over the Verrazano many times, but I was never behind the wheel. New Yorkers like me don't drive, we take trains. The lowest I remember on the Verrazano was $7.. and subway $1.25...

16) College, NY or somewhere else?
Brooklyn, and online.

17) Did you leave NY and come back cause you couldn't live without it?
I've "lived" in PA and PR during the summer but I could never live there.

18) Favorite Borough?
Manhattan

19) Your thoughts on the Belt Parkway?
It's not bad. Much better then the Van Wyck.

20) Duane Reade or Rite-Aid?
Target is cheaper.

21) Favorite Bagel Shop?
Uhhh... the bagel cart?

22) Have you gotten a ticket for driving while on the cell phone?
I'm not retarded.

23) Do you even know where there is a Sonic Burger?
LMFAO!! I was talking to Gary and a friend about Sonic Burger the other day! I have no idea where the fuck it is. It's probably in NJ or some shit.

24) Have you ever had a Fribble?
....WTF....

25) Will both Shea and Yankee stadiums be open this October?
At this point it looks like a good chance for both. It should be very exciting come Oct.

26) Favorite club / bar to go to?
Lucky 13 Saloon
No Idea Bar

27) Do you know who the New York Red Bulls are?
New York Soccer Team

28) How many times as a native New Yorker have you been to the Statue of Liberty?
Once, and it was because a relative from FL made me take her.

29) Do you even know who Kevin Maas is?
Yeah, but I don't care enough about the Yanks to even look him up..

30) Chelsea Piers....Good / Bad, overated, overpriced???
I've been wanting to go there for years but never get a chance to. I'm sure it's overpriced just like everything else in Manhattan.

31) Do you refill your metro cards???
Week unlimited, so I have to buy a new card each time.

32) Ever been to Times Square on New Year's Eve???
Why the fuck would I want to be out with a bunch of tourists, in the cold to watch a fucking disco ball??? Whomever thought the idea would be cool should be shot.
