[Feb 12, 2005] First Snow and a birthday.
Current mood: energetic
Friday was my grandmother's 75th birthday. I bought a bunch of flowers for Grandma with Gary and Candice. They came over to my house for our mini party. Grandma loved the flowers. She took pictures of them like Miss America. She's so cool. My Aunt Sandy came down from Binghamton as a surprise. She will be with us for the weekend. Nice evening with food and cake. Later on that night I took pics of Candie, and fixed up her MySpace page. Cool night.
This saturday happened to be my day off so I had the pleasure of staying home. It was a nice quiet day. I wasn't too productive today because I spent most of the day trying to fix my Wacom Tablet. When I finally got it fixed I only had a few hours to slap something together for homework.
My father works a newspaper route every morning. I'm always awake when we leaves for work around 3 AM. We live in a private home so we have to shovel for ourselves. I promised to help him shovel out the car, driveway, and street when he woke up. At 3:30 AM my mother, father, and I all went outside. My sister stayed inside played FFXI, and babysit the dog. ::sigh::
It wasn't that cold outside. We had a few moments of heavy wind but it didn't feel cold. At that time we had about 6 inches of snow. The snow was very soft so dad and I had no problem shoveling. It's always fun burying other cars in the street. haha We finished in about 30 minutes and went back inside. My sister had hot chocolate ready for us. She makes the best hot chocolate!
I couldn't help it. Instead of taking the chocolate I ran back outside to play in the snow. It was so pretty. I had to jump in that virgin snow. No one is out there at 4 AM so it was the perfect opportunity. I took my camera and jumped outside. By then there was a dusting of snow over the area we cleaned. Instead I jumped in the snow piles in front of my neighbors house. So now here I am, writing this for all of you, sipping on this awesome hot chocolate. haha.
We didn't clean the backyard because we have a wooden deck and pool. It's much safer to use the front door during snow. The deck gets icy very fast. I love hoping in the snow. haha I wanted to lay in the snow but it would have been hard to take pics. Tomorrow I promise to take pics in my backyard laying in the snow. There is always a huge snow drift back there. Crissy will take pics for me.
Enjoy these pics I took! They are so pretty.
My normal jacket was washed last night. To not disturb my grandparents in the basement I just grabbed my old NY Islanders coat. I look like a Habib Ninja.
It's snowing so hard you cannot see the elevated A train at the end of my block.
Front yard, under canopy.
My footsteps from jumping in the snow!
Take care guys. Be safe. As Quan would say "Stay Frosty!"
