Welcome to Silent Hill...
Current mood: impressed
Today was my day off! Wooooo! I spent the entire day with Gary, and a few of his friends. Gary's mom bought these Honey Wheat pretzels and they are so addictive.
I finally saw (most) of Wrestlemania 22. The hardcore match with McFoley/Edge was awesome! Edge may have won but McFoley was the victor in my mind. People know I love John Cena. Well now I have a new love- Mickie! Oh she's so fine, she's so fine she blows my mind. This was the best female wrestling match EVER! Omfg... It was hotter then porn. Luis and I were just staring at the screen in awe. Them legs of hers... wow.. I said to Luis "Are you having sex with her in your head too?" He just nodded and smiled. It was priceless. Here is the fight in case you missed it.
Later in the evening Gary, Luis and I went to 42nd st. for some Silent Hill.
West siiiiide!
While on 42nd st. we ran into Sergio and his business Inomical Soma. Gary bought a Joker poster for Mark and then we headed off to the movie. First off, I have to say this- It takes alot to scare me. With that said I will say my next statement- I was creeped out for half of the movie. Yup.. I turned into a wuss.. temporarily. I jumped twice, and then laughed at myself for jumping. I usually don't do that either...
Anyway back to what I was saying... I love Silent Hill. The visual presentation was very artsy. Fog, ash, macabre.. all were appropriate during their given times. When the darkness falls, the town becomes engulfed with evil. Their CG and cinemetography was amazing. Many times I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. It helped to increase my heartrate and made me more creeped out. lol The "char-babies" were pretty freaky.. I just wished they didn't cry so loud! My ears are sensitive. One downfall to the film was the need to cover my ear. At various points in the movie there was a high pitched siren or something.. Maybe I was the only one who heard it, but it bothered me alot.
The nurses... Oh the nurses. That was probably my favorite part. I laughed at the way the moved.. They moved like Michael Jackson's Thiller. I would love to watch a parody of that scene with Thriller in the back. "They are attracted to the light, but it's your only way to see."
What I love the best about the film are it's characters. The mother Rose looks just like SH3's "Heather." She's so sweet, and caring, but she's hardcore! I <3 that. Half of the movie she was in handcuffs (kinky!) The other half of the movie she only had a flashlight. For 3 secs she had a knife. lol That's why I liked her so much. She wasn't a badass, crazy mom. Yeah, she got lucky at times, but she lived long enough for the sun to rise! lol The female cop Cybil Bennett is a badass cop. In my view, she was a lesbian woman, who hates men, and digs on rose. I am also convinced they burned her because she was a lesbian. I'm sorry to say it. :(
Remember the cheesy demony voice from the commercials as she says, "I am the Reaper"? Gone.
Silent Hill is without a doubt the most faithful adaptation of a video game ever made while still being a damn fun ride. You are looking at 30ystery and 70 ure horror. There is more blood, human remains, and in-your-face kills in this film than weve seen on the screen in a looooong time. Take note, and remember to honor The Janitor.
Alrighty back to my story. :) After the movie I met up with Serge again. He was nice enough to draw the Sand village logo on Gary's hat and on my backpack. He also drew "Ai" (Love) on my backpack using a pic of Gaara on my PSP as reference.
Toodles!
